Difficulty Level: Beginner
Production Method: perlite, rockwool, sand, deep water culture, Dutch bucket
Nutrient Mix: Full Strength
pH: 5.8-6.2
Starting Seeds: 70-90F. Optimum germination temperature is 80F. Use half strength solution until true leaves have unfolded then switch to full strength.
Growing Temperature and Environment: 65-90F. Optimum growing temperature is 70-75F. High of low temperatures may inhibit fruit development. Keeping plants dry with good air flow around them will inhibit most disease problems like downy or powdery mildew.
Pollination: Depends on variety. Some need pollination some don’t.
Oxygenation: If roots are constantly submerged, circulate and oxygenate 1-2 times per hour or use air stones that cause significant water agitation.
